Description

Most trackers know where the vehicle is. The Teltonika FMC150 also knows what it is doing. Because the CAN processor is built into the device, it reads dashboard fuel level, total consumption, engine RPM, accelerator pedal position and actual distance travelled — the same figures the driver sees. Trackers that estimate fuel from the GPS route simply do not have this data. In practice that means two things. First, no cost and no fitting for a separate CAN adapter. Second, fuel consumption in your reports is measured rather than calculated — which matters when you use it to justify costs or suspect fuel theft. Alongside CAN it has three digital inputs, two outputs, two analogue inputs and 1-Wire for temperature probes and iButton. A digital output can act as an immobiliser with call-based blocking. The 170 mAh backup battery makes sure the device reports a power cut instead of going silent. It also supports electric vehicles, which is not a given with older trackers using an external adapter. It runs on 4G LTE Cat 1 with 2G fallback.
